Recently, it has suddenly cooled down in Japan.
Until just a little while ago, it was quite hot, and I was hoping it would cool down soon.
However, once it suddenly got cold, I found myself rushing to take out the futon, which made for a hectic start to the week.
With that said, here's a special feature on kotatsu, an essential for the cold season.
The kotatsu we handle are made in woodworking shops located in Hita City, Oita Prefecture, and Saga City, Saga Prefecture.
With the core principles of "health," "safety," and "comfort," these manufacturers are dedicated to producing furniture made in Japan. They use environmentally friendly and health-conscious materials, offering furniture that provides relaxation, based on years of knowledge and experience.

■Rustic charm that looks well-used
Suruga 180cm-wide kotatsu These are our recommended kotatsu, but we understand that preferences vary by design, size, and price.
You can find a list of kotatsu by size from the URLs below, so even if your preferred item is not listed, you can explore other options there.
Just because an item wasn’t recommended doesn't mean it’s not a good choice; we’ve suggested different styles based on size and design.
Except for Reeves, all products are made in the same factory, so there’s almost no difference in quality (though some products use solid wood tops and others use veneers).
All the kotatsu we offer use materials that comply with the F☆☆☆☆ rating for low formaldehyde emissions as per the Japanese Industrial Standards. This is the highest grade in formaldehyde measures, addressing the causes of sick house syndrome, realizing furniture making with health in mind.
Use of environmentally friendly paint: We use paint that does not contain harmful substances like toluene or xylene, maintaining the natural texture while ensuring safe products.
Use of legally sourced wood: We prevent illegal logging and contribute to sustainable forest management.
Unique moisture content standards: We only use wood dried to a moisture content of 13% or less, ensuring that even natural wood is less likely to warp or crack, enhancing durability and quality stability.
The heater is designed for use in Japan.
Manufacturer: Metro Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Type: U-shaped quartz tube heater
Rating: AC 100V 600W 50-60Hz
