Details

Natural Paulownia Wood (Kiri):
High-quality solid paulownia, carefully selected for lasting beauty and everyday durability — smooth, knot-free grain with consistent color tone. Uncoated, with no synthetic finishes that could affect delicate fabrics. Adhesive meets Japan's F☆☆☆☆ (4-star) safety standard. Beveled interior edges allow kimono and tatoushi to glide in and out without snagging. Lid and bottom panels use 4mm paulownia veneer for durability and a clean finish.

Generous Capacity:
Each tier holds approximately 3–4 kimono depending on thickness. Lower tier suits kimono stored flat with tatoushi; upper tier works well for obi and accessories.

Easy to Carry:
Carved wooden handles on both sides for easy repositioning. Solid build designed for long-term use and to be passed down.

Included Accessories:
Comes with everything you need to store and care for your kimono collection from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size kimono storage should I buy?

Choose based on how many kimonos you own and whether you plan to store obis and accessories together.

◆ For kimono only:
・1–4 kimonos: 1-Tier
・5–6 kimonos: 2-Tier
・7–8 kimonos: 3-Tier
・9–10 kimonos:

4-Tier If you'd like to store obis, zori, and accessories together, we recommend going up one tier to accommodate them.

Can I store the kimono directly in the drawer?

It is highly recommended that you wrap your kimono in tatoushi paper (traditional Japanese washi paper) before storing it in the drawer. This helps protect the fabric from dust, humidity, and discoloration.

What are tatoushi paper & kimono hangers?

Tatoushi Paper
Tatoushi paper is a unique wrapping paper for kimono, essential for preserving your garments in pristine condition. It helps prevent dust, moisture, and discoloration, ensuring your kimono remains in top shape for years.

Kimono hanger
A kimono hanger is a specially designed hanger used to store and maintain kimonos properly. Unlike regular clothing hangers, it is crafted to preserve the shape and fabric of a kimono without causing wrinkles or damage.

Should I use mothballs or insect repellents?

While the natural properties of paulownia wood help deter insects, using mothballs or insect repellents can provide additional protection. However, avoid placing them directly on the fabric.
